New asagao book by Akemi Matsui

Via Flickr:
I was most fortunate to receive this fine book as a gift, authored by Akemi Matsui. Ms. Matsui is a Japanese botanical illustrator who actually grew all the rare mutant asagao and non-mutant flower forms. The book is entirely in Japanese language, however, her artwork can be appreciated by any asagao enthusiast or lover of the style of artwork typical of Edo Period Japan.

See more about Ms. Matsui at this link:

The reverse tube or ”cup flower” flower form is among my favorites of mutant Japanese morning glory.
