The leaves of this strain of morning glory should be variegated. If you look closely at the cotyledons, you can see this trait, I think.

This variety is a very old line and is a Higo Asagao. It should make an off-white to cream flower and it appears it will have variegated leaves. The Higo varieties were reportedly grown by the Samurai in Edo Period.

An indoors-grown Japanese morning glory

Via Flickr:
My setup for growing these plants during the winter. I use an energy-efficient fluorescent bulb to provide light to the plant. It is equivalent to 100W but only uses 18W or so. I have the light on a timer set to give short-day photoperiod, which induces flower production in Ipomoea nil. I have it set to be on for 11 hours a day.

An indoors-grown Japanese morning glory

Here is another asagao I am growing indoors to pass by winter. It is one that came to me as a stray seed in a seed packet which should have had pink windmill type flowers. I love its rich deep purple color.
